Introduction:
This area (like most of Südkärnten) offers plenty of Wnderwegs (trails) and plenty of Sees (lakes).
Klopeiner See was home to the 2007 Austria XTERRA Championship series. The route offers a nice cross-country ride. Unlike most alpen rides, that go mostly up and then down, this ride offers more of an roller cosater ride around the beautiful Südkärnten (South Corinthia) Klopeiner
There are many variations that can be rode here. And the area has many longer tour rides available, including the multiday Drauradweg Tour.

Coming from the North: motorway A8 (München-Munich-Salzuburg), change for A10 (Tauernautobahn) until Villach, then change for A2 (Südautobahn). Follow direction Wien-Vienna until exit "Grafenstein". Signs will lead you on the main road in direction Klopeiner See (Lake Klopein).
Coming from the East: Follow motorway A2 (Südautobahn) in direction Wien-Vienna until exit "Völkermarkt Ost". Signs will lead you on the main road in direction Klopeiner See (Lake Klopein).
Coming from the South: Follow motorway A2 (Südautobahn) in direction Wien-Vienna until exit "Grafenstein". Signs will lead you on the main road in direction Klopeiner See (Lake Klopein).

Plenty of Pensions and Hotels at the See and nearby area. Good for families also.
Other Information:
Nice fair challenging cross country. Plenty of single track through the woods. Lots of alternate routes. Can ride the area for a few days working in new trails rides.
